This exhibition was a part of the national acknowledgment of Citizenship Day and Constitution Week required by the 2004 Congressional mandate that asks schools receiving federal funding to provide education about the Constitution on September 17th. FOUNDATIONAL explored the documents that influenced the U.S. Constitution and the changing definition of citizenship.

This exhibit idea was brought to me by members of a local DAR chapter. I curated the exhibit to educate the audience about the U.S. Constitution and Citizenship Day, describe the documents that influenced the framing of the Constitution, explore the Constitution as a living document, and highlight the populations of the United States that were denied access to citizenship for decades.
