A main component of the exhibit was design and making photos and article scans visually engaging. Every week or so, I checked in with Dr. Isla-Lopez’s class to present my progress and ideas. It was a collaboration with the student’s as much as it was with Dr. Isla-Lopez. She and I discussed timelines, expectations and deadlines, but the student’s did the bulk of the writing, research, and object selection. The topic of the exhibit gain traction in the DU community, and people from all over campus were offering their resources. By the time the exhibit was ready to be installed, it had become a collaboration between the class, DUMA, Special Collections, the Beck Archives, the College of Arts Humanities & Social Sciences Dean’s Office, and Sun Valley Kitchen, who catered the opening reception.
